Maria Mariposa

Hello again (waving)
Today I am entering the Art by MiRan progressive challenge with this new digital stamp Maria Mariposa.
I had some spare time set aside for myself and decided to let loose and again go beyond the norm.
I have used polychromos to colour the stamp in and inktense and water for the background and the little plants around her feet.

I wanted to try a different skin tone. Who says fairies have normal skin tone anyways ;)
I think i used every leafy die I had. There is a kaisercraft one, lala land crafts and a martha stewart leaf punch. I wanted her to look as if she was hiding in her little magical forest so i have covered the edge of the colouring to make her blend into her surroundings as best as I could.

Bit closer look.

lil' patch of crafty friends DT inspiration for challenge #14

Hi everyone, thanks for dropping by.
Today I have a Christmas card to show you. I have used a gorgeous image called Pink Roses Christmas Angels from Cottage Rose Graphics who is one of the sponsors for this weeks challenge
Cottage rose are generously donating $20 to spend in store on their gorgeous images that you can use in your creations as a prize.

Here i have a side view of my card I have created.
I decided to go with a centre step card for the card base.

As you see from the front, the card style gives a great 3D effect. I decided to give the Pink Roses Christmas Angels centre stage and keep the embellishments and cardstock i used to create the card with all the one colour to make the image really pop. The snowflake die I used was a tim holtz one and i added a little sparkle to each snowflake with some crystal kindy glitz. The ribbon I had in my stash. It was actually a ball of wool/ribbon i picked up ages ago for $1 from spotlight at the end of last winter.
The little metal embellishment 'Peace on earth' i picked up from ebay.

Click on the sponsors image to be taken to their etsy store and discover their gorgeous images. You won't be disappointed, trust me.
Then feel free to enter the Challenge over at Lil' patch of crafty friends. The challenge is anything goes so you can make anything your heart desires and who knows you may just win!

The other generous sponsors for the challenge are
Fresh Brewed designs with a prize of 3 images

Ching-chou Kuik with a prize of 1 image

Ragged Romeo

hello (waving)
I had a custom order for an engagement card and got to colour up this adorable image from Mo Manning called 'Ragged romeo' you can grab it here > click me

I used polychromos to colour the stamp and inktense for the sepia background.
I love how it turned out and it will be sad to pop it into the post today but thems the breaks.
I used spellbinders lace hearts dies to cut out a bunch of hearts to layer the base of the card.
Flowers are from i am roses and thankfully i had the right colours to match...phew

Here is the inside of the card and i matched up one of the diecuts with the front one so you can't tell its there until you open it.

I will be adding this card into the following challenges

Witchery

New release day over at The East Wind!
Here is my instagram sneak peek
and here she is 'Witchery'. Isn't she gorgeous? you can grab her from unky's etsy shop here>click me
The border edge punch is a martha stewart one called doily lace. the cardstock is from Kaisercraft and I have heat embossed with some black zing embossing powder around the edge of the picture.
I used Polychromos pencils to colour her and here you can see my midway point i guess with colouring her hair. i was going for mousey blonde i guess. I looked at it and it needed more of the blonde colour to fill the gaps.
You can see in this pic i have pretty much finished with her hair and have moved onto the hair piece. I have started leaving a white edge to the outer most part of the area i am colouring. it breaks the areas up and shows where some of the light would catch. I notice it mostly around the gathered hair at the top of her head.

Anyways enough of me prattling on.

Jacinta, sitting, thinking

I had an usual bit of spare time so I decided to colour a stamp I have had for like ever and wanted to colour.
this is a Make It Crafty digital stamp called Jacinta, sitting, thinking.
I cropped her a little chopping off her feet...sorry Jacinta.
Coloured her with Polychromos, about 14 of them, and fussy cut her out.
I fiddled around with the card layout for ages and got sick of fiddling so ended up with what i have here. Its ok but still annoys me a little.
