Aurora 'gorogoro'

Today is new release day at The East Wind. I had the fun of colouring up the new image which is called Aurora 'gorogoro'.
I was looking and thinking how i would portray the image and wasn't sure what gorogoro meant so i googled it. Apparently gorogoro is a verb or adverb for rumble (of thunder) or growling or in this instance purring (of a cat).
So i had a thought to make the cat look as if it had just woke Aurora from her nap with a purring of oh this is comfy ;)

I have coloured the image with polychromos pencil. the purrrrfect was computer generated and i cut it to resemble a thought bubble.
The cardstock and papers used are from kaisercraft. I hope you like what i have created here and have inspired you to pop by Unky's etsy shop to purchase this cute digital stamp.

DT Inspiration for Challenge #26 Lil patch of crafty freinds

Hi there
Seems the kids christmas present has been well used. They used up all the internet playing xbox games so I am a few days late with this post.

There is a new anything goes challenge over at Lil Patch Of Crafty Friends
We have some awesome sponsors for the challenge too, one one of which is Bugaboo Stamps. They have up for grabs a prize of 7 digital stamps for a winner!
I have to say Bugaboo stamps was one of the first stamp companies that I purchased from. I love their quirky funny stella and gus stamps.
I had the pleasure of colouring up the following digital stamp 'Rock Star Boy'
Pretty cool huh?
I turned my hand to ballpoint pens for colouring this image. I used polychromos pencil for the skin though, as i didn't have the right pen colour for that. I love how the pen ink makes him really stand out.
The star borders are made with a martha stewart punch and i picked out some scrap papers to fill out the card.

So I hope you drop by the Lil Patch of Craft Friends blog and join in with challenge #26 with anything you fancy :)
Thanks for dropping by

January Guest Designer for Ching Chou Kuik

I was asked to be a guest designer for the Ching Chou Kuik Blog for the month of January. The challenge for this month is "Use something New"
I was allowed to select an image to use and I chose this lovely one called "flowery" which you can purchase on chin-chou Kuiks etsy store via this >>link
I have coloured the image with polychromos pencils. It is darker in real life (it was difficult getting a good picture on the day). I fussy cut her out and adhered her to a kaisercraft doily die cut frame which has been layered amongst some kaisercraft die cut leaves.

The 'use something new' was this ultrafine glitter, by Barbara Trombley, I have had for a while and not yet used it. As you can see it comes in many colours, 375 colours all up, of which I have four at the moment. The colour I used on this card is called jonquil.  I put a small bit of acid free glue to the edge of the doily die cut which frames the image, to adhere the glitter.
You can check out a quick video about Barbara here >>link

So I bet you have something new that you are itching to use so why not use it and show us in this challenge over at Ching Chou kuiks challenge blog. The challenge runs all January so you have plenty of time to enter,
